The Cooper’s…After attending Agricultural College together and graduating in the spring of 1993, Steve and Lisa married and embarked upon expanding the already successful family cattle & sweet corn business. Soon they experimented with other crops and in 1999 began the Farmers’ Markets that now are available in Newmarket, Aurora, Uxbridge, as well as a roadside stand north of Newmarket. It was at this time that Steve decided to change from cattle to goats and began offering even more produce for the public. In 1995 Cayla Crea and 1996 Trenton Lang were born, adding to the rapidly expanding and very busy farm!
In 2003 after working off of the farm since they were married, Lisa began to work full-time on the farm; a dream both Steve and Lisa had shared to have the farm employ them both. Their combined hard work and enthusiasm has led to the creation of “The Uxbridge Maze” in 2006 and a “Community Supported Agriculture” program in 2007 – both of which have been heartily received by the community and are thriving.
It seems that the Coopers have indeed fulfilled their mission of growing and marketing the best produce ever, while meeting their customers’ needs and exceeding their expectations. Their commitment to bridging the gap between field and plate is what drives this family, and keeps their customers coming back.
